The (sur)Real Life

So day 4 we went to Parque de la Cana (Sugar Cane Park). Days 5 and 6 we spent in the mountains and it was like being on National Geographic. It was so cool! We saw a bug that could eat a bird and plants that shrivel up when you touch them. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!
Cousin Brian in Parque de la CaƱa.
The Wave Pool.
The family at the water park.
Luisito, Camilo, Alexis, and Vanessa in the truck
before we left for la finca. All of us en route.
Some scenery on our way up the mountain!
This is the view of the city from up the mountain!
This is probably the craziest thing I´ve seen in my life! This bug was HUGE!
And with those claws could probably eat a bird!
On our way down to the river.Crossing that river was really tough. The river is really strong on
the other side.
This is the pool, which gets filled up with river water.
It´s so refreshing considering we spent a little over and hour
in the sun and got really tan/ burnt.

Our Adventure So Far...

has led us to an outdoor mall yesterday and a place called San Antonio, where you can buy hand made crafts and is also a hang out for kids to dance and chat. We also had a ¨surprise¨guest arrive last night (worth the wait). We are going to Buenaventura tomorrow morning and may not be back until Sunday night/Monday morning so there will be no posts until we arrive back at Abuela´s, where there is computers (thank god!).

So we went for ice cream yesterday and two men walking with ducks pass by. All the ladies in my family, being the animal lovers that we are, asked Dad to buy us one. Sure enough, he gave in and bought TWO! Everyone taunted Sam and Kim by saying that they were going to eat them haha.

This was us at the outdoor mall, catching some sun after eating DELICIOUS Colombian food!

Someone needs to write these recipes down because we are being spoiled now.

This was the Church Taylor and I (Alexis) were baptized in. Don´t remember it but it´s awesome to see!

And so here is our special friend, Oscar Andres! Our cousin, and Dad and Mom´s nephew! We (the kids) haven´t been here in 7 years so everyone is so shocked to see us and visa versa.

Left to Right: Daniela, Tio Luis, Oscar, Taylor and Dad

Results of this night were vomit next to Moms bed and hungover people! haha

This is a picture of the 3 Crosses. There are several of these all over Cali but this is the most popular one because there are 3. They light up everynight! And although it may be hard to tell, they are up on a giant hill!

That´s all for now, more to follow in a few days!

We Have Arrived!

We are here. Safe and sound. We were greeted at the airport with family and when we got back to Abuela´s house we were handed plates of delicious steak, rice and beans! Here are some photos of yesterday and we will try to post as often as we can! Oh, and this is the truck that we got picked up in and rode in the back all the way to Abuela´s!
We love and miss you all!

Leaving tomorrow

We will be leaving tomorrow and have suitcases all over the house. Alexis and Taylor- not to worry- absence makes the heart grow fonder! Besides, the next time you travel internationally it might be on your honeymoon!! Let's hope it's not too stormy tomorrow. Chao.

One week countdown

We have started the countdown! The kids will soon be reunited with family they have not seen in over seven years! We are all excited and I figured that creating this blog would be a great way for our family and friends here in NY to follow us on this wonderful family vacation!
